Sometimes it happens that an insanely good, interesting and generally high-quality game is transferred to other platforms extremely badly. So it happened with this game, the original on Genesis may not have been perfect, but it was quite good-looking. After porting, Mortal Kombat II became like a cripple: weak graphics, weak music, weak backgrounds, poor animation, few hits. Weak game, it is better to emulate a game with Genesis, or at least SNES.
