There are 10 pilots to choose from, plus two hidden ones, and two more are only available in the arcade version of the game. After beating the game for the first time, each pilot will have one additional aircraft unlocked. Each aircraft is equipped with unique weapons and special weapons. As you progress through the level, opponents will drop upgrades that increase firepower. There will be about a dozen levels in total, and they, just like in the original games of the series, are rather short. At the end of each of them, a boss will be waiting. You have to visit such locations as: Kyoto, Paris, Moscow, Hawaii and other places. There will also be forks in the path, the choice of which determines what the final boss and ending will be like. There is also a game for two.
