The Fireblade, the sacred symbol of an ancient family, has been shattered into 16 pieces, and Hero Hiro must find them all in order to restore power to the sword and restore the pride of his people.
The gameplay consists of platforms and stairs, above and below the ground. New territories become visible gradually, as they approach. Sometimes there are additional weapons and secret rooms.
