Lemmings is a great intriguing game in which you need to help hordes of stupid, but charming creatures with green hair, known as Lemmings, to avoid a hostile environment in more than a hundred unique adventures. In unfortunate rodents overpopulation, therefore, the overgrown population is looking for a new home, migrating from place to place. An exciting puzzle was developed by DMA Design and published by Psygnosis in 1991 for the Amiga. Lightning its legal and unofficial ways ported to dozens of gaming platforms, and, also, several sequels were created.
Lemmings fall on each level through the opened hatch doors. Being beings who are not burdened by the intellect, they need any available help to survive amid the dangers lurking around and get to the exit. They are just as lovely as they are stupid. Without further thought, the animals will walk from the cliff, into the water, dangers and traps. And if they are not threatened, they will just walk the crowd back and forth, changing direction each time, bumping into obstacles. We have to help them by empowering some furry animals with unique skills that help to survive the entire population. Some will dig holes, others will prohibit movement to dangers, others will build steps, the fourth will fly on umbrellas, climb walls, etc. - Only 8 skills. Naturally, the number and variety of skills, time and number of lemmings at each level. So it is very important to save, if not all, but the majority needed to move to a new stage.
Game Lemmings mega is popular, therefore, and variations it is not considered. In the original game 120 levels, combined into 4 groups of 30: Fun, Tricky, Taxing and Mayhem. There are 20 levels available for players. For computers, the second player was steering an additional mouse or joystick, and for Mega Drive and SNES, there was nothing to invent. It's strange that the 3DO version is only for one.

Interesting Facts

The myth of the mass suicides of lemmings came about thanks to the efforts of the creators of the Disney documentary film "White Wilderness" of 1958. It described the mass migration of lemmings, and for greater effect, the group of beasts was pushed from the rock into the water. The actions of filmmakers should be condemned, but it is thanks to them that lemmings immortalized themselves in the ingenious game of all times and peoples.

Tips

  • To release the blocker without using a weapon, use the miner: let him make a tunnel.
  • If the lemmings get into the pit, they can be released by several builders, having built the stairs "zigzag" (if the previous span was tilted to the right and already rested against the wall, then the next one should start to build to the left of the upper step, and vice versa).
  • Any lemming can be turned into a builder, if right before it there is solid material. He will build until he hits the ceiling and falls. Note that lemmings can be passed by if there is at least a small distance between the staircase and the ceiling, but will fall, being turned into builders.
  • If it is necessary to change the activity of lemmings without using a blocker, a bashler, miner or digger may be useful - depending on the terrain. Let them dig a deep hole. The builder who came to the rescue, stumbling upon the wall, will stop the construction and return to its original place. If there is rubble in the ground, the miner will start to work, but after the first blow by the pick in the impenetrable rock he will retreat.
  • You can, without blockers, stop a whole horde of lemming running in a panic, digging out a large pit. To do this, use the digger (then turn it into a builder: when later you want to free the lemmings from the pit, the builders are useful). Or let the bashler or the miner make an inclined pit, then replace them with a builder.
  • It is more difficult to stop lemmings in this way: blocking them with the help of builders that have built a long four span ladder.
  • If the lemmings go to a rock on which the bridge is not yet built, they can be saved by turning everyone into a build. It is desirable to make the conversion at some distance from the first bridge builder.
  • To separate one or two lemmings from the group behind the wall, when there is no hope for the blockers, try building a ladder, but with which all the lemmings will climb, and then one or two lemmings will be turned into diggers when they are already above the ground - and they fall into a trap .
  • If the blocker keeps your lemmings, and you want one lemming to pass by, then build a bridge over the head of the blocker. See how the lemmings fall from the bridge. As soon as one falls by the blocker, make the digger a digger (this will stop the rest).
  • To change the direction of the ladder in the air, first place the blocker in place of the intended turn of the ladder. As soon as the next lemming approaches, turn it into a builder. When the ladder hits the blocker, the builder will fall and support the construction.
  • If you want to lower a group of lemmings from a high structure, and you do not have enough floaters (floaters), you can use a digger to build a ladder. If the height is about twice as large as that which lemmings can overcome, use the digger tunnel on the edge of the rock and stop it halfway, turning it into a builder. The Lemmings will be descended twice: first to the ladder that the digger made, and then to the ground. If the fall continues, you can use more diggers, creating a series of stairs.
  • If you want the lemming to dig in the opposite direction, immediately turn it into a digger, and when it approaches the right place, turn it into a builder. He will try to get out of the pit, overcome a few steps and fall. Now you can get him to dig in the other direction.
  • If you expect the lemmings to hit a hard surface and fall, make it a basser - it will stop the poor fellow from a distance.
