WCW Nitro features 16 wrestlers from WCW and NWO: "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Sting, Giant, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Arn Anderson, Chris Benoit, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall from Outsiders, Booker T. and Stevie Ray from Harlem Heat, Jerry Sags and Brian Knobs from the Nasty Boys, Lex Luger, Diamond Dallas Page and Jeff Jarrett. This is perhaps the only time that WCW and WWF characters have come together in the same game. Each wrestler has up to thirty types of movements. The game has three modes: championship match, duel and practice match. The graphics in WCW Nitro look much more realistic than they did in WCW Vs. The World. The combination of 3D images with digitized video images of characters gives a great effect. While it may not look as real as it would on a TV screen, the ever-changing camera angle and instant replays make it possible to accurately capture the tense atmosphere of the tournament.
