The devil, under cover of night, descends to Earth and seduces people right in their sleep. The lonely young hero does not like this at all and he decides to enter into battle with him, and you will be this hero. The game is made in the classic RPG genre, but with numerous action elements, ie. you have to swing your sword a lot. The style of the game resembles Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo platform. As usual, you follow your path, search various secluded spots, look for the right things and constantly fight off enemies. There are a lot of weapons in the game, although at first you will use one sword for a long time, but soon the situation will change. Swords and hunting bows, magic wands and other equally useful things will help you on your difficult path. You jump, run, destroy vile enemies and innocent plants (otherwise you will not earn treasures and not get prizes), throw rivals on all four sides (in the literal sense of the word), pick up and examine boxes and jugs.

The main difference between Alundra and other role-playing games is that the main emphasis in the game is placed on solving puzzles, which are sometimes so difficult that you don't immediately understand what's what. The controls are excellent, but the graphics and characters (made from sprites) look very mediocre, and the synthesized music is sometimes annoying.

In general, you will not find anything particularly outstanding here, but, nevertheless, the game was warmly received by the majority of RPG fans for its good storyline and beautiful (but tricky) puzzles. Alundra is one of the best old school RPG games for the PlayStation system.
