After the events of Contra: Legacy of War, the Contra Hard Corps squad (but in the instructions they are called Contra Force), drifting on a meteorite in outer space, is saved and returned to Earth. The squad disbanded, and each fighter finds his vocation. However, there was an alien bug on the meteorite who escaped the final battle with the Contra squadron. A few months later, a meteorite with a stranger falls in South America near the Maya temple. The alien captures the temple and begins a new invasion of the Earth. A member of the Hard Corps squad, Tasha (in the instruction she is called Tanya), goes to reconnoiter to the temple, but disappears without a trace. Now Ray Poward, a veteran of Hard Corps, will have to stop the alien invasion.
The player will have to go through ten levels that differ in design: some levels are presented in the classic for Contra games from the side, others in the isometric form, and the third in the top view. There is a special level, which is a shaft in which the hero is in free fall. All the innovations that appeared in Contra: Legacy of War are present in this game: saving to the memory card, health points, shooting in 3D environments.
